Gucci!

Oh boy. Looking for the perfect birthday gift for mommy is a seriously difficult task. It is probably way tougher than doing my Managerial Accounting test this morning. I met up with sister this evening to search for a gift for mommy as her birthday falls on this thursday.

We spent our time shopping in the high-end boutiques searching high and low for something which my mom would love. But the problem was we didn't know what exactly to get for someone who has almost everything. Hence, after hours of aimless shopping, we decided to go to Gucci, which has always been a last resort for us, as we feel that we can always get something from there that we love.

The Gucci handbag picture that posted above is what we eventually got for her. It isn' exactly the same as the picture above, as it has white leather trim instead of the dark metal. But anyway, I'm sure that my mom will be delighted when she sees it, as it matches her Gucci wallet which we got for her 2 years ago. LOL.

The bag costs me an arm and a leg. I believe for the next few months, I'm gonna live my life like a begger.

Goin' Wild ~

Well, it's been awhile. Something interesting happened yesterday! Well, that's kinda why I have this sudden urge to write it down before it vanishes in my mind. I have this Cambodian friend of mine who just came back from Cambodia. And she brought back some local delicacy with her to share with the whole class. Well, I must say it was not how I imagined it to be, because I never knew the size of these things were that humongous!

When she opened the container almost every single one in the class including the professor were surrounding my discussion table. The second she opened the container the whole class just went wild and lots of "ewwwwwwww..." in the air. Because the container was stuffed with deep-fried insects such as spiders, silkworms, crickets and one unknown-but-seriously-big-bug!

Curiousity had me. I did not succumb to the fear that I could end up having diarrhoea. I ate a tiny part of the spider and a silkworm. It was rather un-insect-like when I was chewing it. Because it reminded me of soft-shell crab somehow. However, I dislike the taste that lingered in my mouth for the whole lesson though.

Something interesting happened ... I ate spider and silkworm.

Touch Her Body ~

Hey hey hey, sitting with Daphne in library and listening to Mariah Carey's latest single entitled "Touch My Body". I must say I like it, it sounds light and catchy and surprisingly refreshing and unique in a complicated way. Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah ...

Juno

Those who haven't seen this show, I mean, seriously, don't miss out. It is such a clever and fun comedy. For those who never heard of this show, then you're seriously a little lagged behind.
Perhaps I always like Ellen Page, because I think she is brilliantly superb in the show, from my biased point of view.

Stroke a man's ego, you'll get to be with him for life."

Happy Chinese New Year!

Yay, Chinese New Year is here! ... ... ... ... ... ... (paused for 17 mins).

Yup, it is finally here. I am sure that we all can sense that kind of stillness in the city whenever this occasion arrives. As major malls are closed and foodstalls are deserted, as people need to stay home chewing the endless supply of barbecue pork and mandarin oranges.

CNY always gives me a sense of nothingness, but I cherish the opportunity to stay home watching Ally Mcbeal and the money in those tiny red packets. Speaking of which, I have this friend of mine who has the most absurd culture of CNY (second to mine). His family usually give really big red packet during CNY and none of those go to my friend even when they're given to him. Because giving away red packets is so commercialised, it's merely just money in and money out. For example, his aunt gave him $240 (yeah, my jaw nearly reached the table when I heard), then his mother will give the 3 children of his aunt $80 each back. Hence, nobody loses.

But the funny part ain't that, because when I asked why such big amount, and he answered that the amount has sorta been rising every year, becuase nobody wants to take nobody's money, therefore, to be on the safe side, they increase it every year. Funny ...

Oh... tomorrow, I need to visit Jul and Daph ...

Maids

Sometimes I wonder why would poeple wanna hire mainds at home? Don't it feel like having a pair of stranger's eyes watching you and looking at you all the time? This is definitely not the kind of thing that I enjoy. Of course, of course! I understand that now modern women have many significant roles to play in this society unlike before. However, the idea of having a domestic helper at home creeps me out everytime.

Besides, I really don't wanna be those bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad (do not know how many time the same adjective can appear in a sentence) employers who treat their maids like a piece of little shit. Yeah, a real little tiny mirco mini nano shit. For example, having your maid sitting behind you waiting while you, the most glamorous employer, enjoying your expensive dinner in a restaurant. Of course, you would not be that cruel to mankind, hence, you would leave them the leftovers.

It's not that I don't like maids, but I hate that I might do the same ...

The first one that I created in 1972 was closed down ...
Because the self-destructive side of me took over and I succumbed to the tempation of clicking the "Close Blog" button ...
